Marque has also been a crucial member of special music projects with classical pianist Katia Labeque and pop legend STING, created beats, loops and grooves for top dance-music producers Roger Sanchez, Robert Miles and drum’n’bass guru GOLDIE.... the list goes on.

At present (and since 2005) Marque has been touring worldwide with Cuban pianist OMAR SOSA. Their most recent CD recording together “Across The Divide” (Half Note) has been nominated for the 2010 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary World Music Album. Their newest CD co-production entitled EGGUN: The Afri-Lectric Experience, is released on 12-February-2013 to be followed by extensive touring.

Marque’s innovative and pioneering work in the UK’s cultural arts scene is well known and documented, and has been gratefully supported by the UK Arts Council, The Performing Rights Society Foundation (PRSF), British Council, The BBC, etc.

Since the early 90’s, his pioneering vision of rhythm and ancestry has literally given birth to a new and now fully-fledged music genre known as “LIVE DRUM’n’BASS” and as such, has helped to “write the book” on live interactive performance events from the world’s very first trans-Atlantic Internet jams (NYC-to-London, 1994) to touring globally and selling-out venues throughout the UK, Europe, Asia & Africa with completely original cross-arts, multi-media and multi-cultural events.

This work and vision continues with his 21st century humanitarian arts organization called The CHRONIC LOVE FOUNDATION (CLF) utilizing all forms of technology and commercial media to create unique programs in the arts to instigate massive changes in the lives of humans across the globe. Now officially launched into the stratosphere, teamed-up with CLF co-founder and UK Creative Arts Entrepreneur Mickey Smith, is the CLF ARTS CAFÉ & WAREHOUSE LOUNGE, located in Peckham South London, fast becoming the premier music and arts venue in London featuring a who’s-who of UK & international artists with masses of FREE events since its official launch in 2007. Many events also feature live collaborations with Gilmore & Smith’s Digital-ClassicalTM dance music project: THE CULTURE CHRONICS, the musical arm of The CLF.

Going back into time through to the present, Marque has always been involved with the most innovative, cutting-edge musical projects and artists and as such, has pioneered the development of Live Drum’n’Bass/Breakbeat music throughout the world, not to mention progressing the sound of many jazz and world music artists with the inclusion of his patented interactive “Acousti-Lectric Drumz” and futuristic playing/performance style.

2012-2013 sees the emergence of new Marque Gilmore live and studio projects, plus the release of a plethora_of new recordings, EPs, ReMiXeS & unreleased albums from the archives of the inna•most, DRUM-FM, and DHM Enterprises (Marque’s original Brooklyn-based production unit), covering a Universe of musical genres and sonic pathways. 2013 also features the re-launch of Marque’s Stockholm-based interactive cultural club-workshop event: KULT-U-REAL™.

New music projects include collaborations with one of the leading pioneers of Jungle/DnB production: SUBJECT13 of Vibez Recordings (a.k.a. ‘Mr.Lefteye’) and a new live performance project with the release of Marque’s new African Bass Music experiment: STEPPA’FRIQUE featuring Mozambican bassist CHILDO TOMAS (from the Omar Sosa group).

Following the February 2013 release of the new Omar Sosa album EGGUN, prepare for a new electronic duet album with Gilmore & Sosa, initially titled: “inna-Cuba-Lectric.” Also in 2013, the release of COSMIC TRANSITS: an ‘Astro-Logical Jazz’ project sponsored by the French-American Cultural Exchange (FACE) with Marque’s guitarist brother David in colaboration with the esteemed French pianist/composer Andy Emler.

“GILMORE BLOWS THEM ALL AWAY. WE'LL ONLY REALIZE HOW IMPORTANT HE IS IN YEARS TO COME.”
